How to open a UK Bank Account

Updated: May 18, 2022

To open a bank account you will require two documents, one to prove your identity and one to prove your living address. To prove identity you will either need a passport, driving licence or an identity card if you’re an EU national. For proof of address you can provide either an tenancy agreement, mortgage statement, a utility bill (providing it was within the last 3 months) or a current council tax bill. Some banks may also require proof of employment.
